Integrated Platform for Corn Trading

The challenge

Corn trading started at the weighbridge and ended in a settlement, but between those two points sat a chain of manual processes and spreadsheets that didn’t talk to each other. Weights were jotted down by hand, truck intake wasn’t recorded reliably, settlements were calculated in spreadsheets, and accounting was a separate close.

Every manual step added risk: calculation errors in settlements that represented significant amounts, no traceability of which truck brought which grain and when, and zero visibility into market positions and prices at the moment of decision.

The solution

We designed a custom integrated platform that covers the full operation, from intake to final settlement:

• Weighbridge integration: the weight is taken directly from the equipment, with no manual entry or transcription of numbers.
• Camera-based control: intake is monitored with cameras integrated into the platform, to validate and keep a record of every operation.
• Vehicle registration: every truck and trip is identified and traceable from the moment it enters until it leaves.
• Automated settlements: calculations are generated from real weighing and contract data, with no intermediate spreadsheets.
• Accounting system: connected to the operation, so every settlement flows into accounting without duplicate entry.
• Administrative mobile app: management and lookups from a phone, with no dependence on the desktop.
• Market price monitoring: price tracking to decide on purchases, sales, and positions at the right moment.

Results

The operation is now traced end to end, from storage to settlement. Automated settlements eliminated calculation errors, accounting reflects the operation with no rework, and the team —even from a phone— decides with up-to-date market data instead of working blind.
